Mission Statement

Our mission is to keep young people out of jails and prisons.   We will accomplish this by educating youth and their parents about the criminal justice system and the pitfalls that lure youth into criminal activity.

WHO WE ARE

We are criminal defense attorneys, a private investigator, and a juvenile advocate concerned about our community.  We are appalled by the number of young people entering the criminal justice system. Watchdogs for Justice (WFJ) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization formed for the express purpose of addressing the problem.

WHAT WE DO

THIS IS NOT COOL, VOLUME I is a series of short stories written by Clara Hunter King, Yvonne Hawks, Lawanda Jean O’Bannon, Betty Williams-Kirby, and Janine Brooks-Collier.  These stories tell clearly, and directly, how one wrong decision can have lifetime tragic consequences.

THIS IS NOT COOL, VOLUME II  brings the reader into the lives of Shontez, David, Dana, and Bill, and demonstrates how urgent the need is to educate our young people about the consequences of their actions.

35 YEARS ON DEATH ROW shows how young people end up in prison when they allow someone else to think for them.
